Adoption Option Inc. a Michigan non-profit corporation and is licensed by the State of Michigan as a child-placing agency to provide a variety of adoption and other services. It has been designated as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization by the Internal Revenue Service.
Adoption Option Inc. was initially founded to provide adoption services, help children in the foster care system and to share free information about adoption and foster care. Since inception we have provided home studies for many types of Michigan families. It has provided services to families adopting domestically, both to children located inside and outside the State of Michigan. Later, it began offering foster licensing and foster care services.
In 2012, Adoption Option began offering services to help families with children in foster care, work to improve their parenting skills so that their children could be returned to them. In 2013 the organization began offering evidence-based parent education services. Each year the amount of family preservation services provided has continued to grow.
Position Overview:
The Child and Family Services Supervisor provides direct supervision, support, and leadership to a team of up to five (5) Child and Family Services Specialists (AIH/FC Dual Workers). This position ensures the delivery of high-quality Advanced In-Home (AIH) parent education and Foster Care (FC) case management services, grounded in family-centered, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive practices.
Responsibilities include supervising staff, reviewing documentation for accuracy and compliance, and providing coaching and performance feedback to strengthen staff skills. The Supervisor also collaborates with MDHHS, courts, and community partners to promote child safety, family stability, and permanency. By guiding staff in implementing evidence-based practices and ensuring adherence to DHHS, DCWL, and agency requirements, the Supervisor plays a critical role in achieving positive outcomes for children and families. This position requires a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and occasional holiday availability, to respond to client or staff needs.
