About Brain Injury Association of Michigan:
The Brain Injury Association of Michigan, BIAMI, a 501(c)(3) GuideStar Platinum organization, is one of the longest established (1980), largest (nearly 800 members), and most productive of the Brain Injury Association of America’s state affiliates. Our mission is to improve the lives of those affected by brain injury and reduce the incidence and impact of brain injury through advocacy, awareness, education, prevention, research, and support.

About the Role:
This position serves as the liaison with existing public and private advocates that may serve people with brain injury. Must be knowledgeable of the State, community, and Association’s programs, services and activities and be responsive to inquiries regarding them.  Advocates for the rights of persons with TBI, their family members, caregivers and community. Identifies and initiates collaborative efforts among BIAMI and community stakeholders. Responsible for following up on inquiries and providing assistance and support when necessary.

Duties include:
- Providing outreach to public and community-based organizations that may serve individuals
with brain injury;
- Collaborating with existing advocacy organizations that serve people with brain injuries;
- Developing and educating a network of individuals in public and private sectors to assist
them in meeting the needs of persons with brain injury;
- Promoting awareness, communication and collaboration between individuals with brain
injury and their families, service providers and other advocates;
- Facilitating BIAMI's membership programs;
- Managing BIAMI's volunteer program;
- Assisting with Information and Referral;
- Providing program support, as needed, for BIAMI programs and events
