Job Title : Development and Outreach Coordinator (Fulltime)
Reports To : Development Director
Supervises : Volunteers, interns
General Function
The Development and Outreach Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and
coordinating development and marketing projects, including aspects of Cancer
Support Community of Greater Ann Arbor events; Other duties as assigned by the
Executive Director.
Event Coordination
● Manage the CSC events as assigned including but not limited to volunteer
recruitment, support to the volunteer committee, budget management, project
plan development, management and evaluation, marketing, stewardship,
solicitation of gifts in kind and sponsorship and day of coordination;
● Liaise with and support third-party fundraising initiatives;
● Initiate and develop new event strategies in new markets as CSC’s programs expand;
● Committee work;
● In partnership with the Development Director is responsible for supporting CSC’s
Development Committee, event committees and other committees as assigned;
● When appropriate opportunities arise, participate in national and regional Committees.

Marketing and Outreach
● Engage external stakeholders including representing CSC at external events such
as health fairs and speaking engagements;
● Maintain, update and manage CSC’s outreach and social media.
● Facilitate educational workshops and social events within CSC and off-site
locations.
Volunteer Management & Coordination
● Recruit, select and screen CSC volunteers.
● Respond to questions and calls concerning volunteer opportunities with CSC.
● Conduct orientation sessions with volunteers and provide on-going training,
education and support.
● Schedule volunteers for various duties, in coordination with other CSC staff,
including but not limited to: office volunteers, outreach booths, special projects
and volunteer ambassadors (including calendar delivery & oversight).

Human Resources
● Direct, plan and coordinate the work of the event volunteers and development
interns (if applicable), including supervision and evaluation, training and team building;
● Attend departmental meetings and report as appropriate to maintain effective communication;
● Ensure adequate and qualified staff and volunteers to carry out the fundraising activities.

Qualifications
● Bachelors (Masters preferred) in Social Work, Marketing or like field and
minimum two-years experience;
● Effective oral and written communication skills;
● Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to supervise and motivate volunteers and
Staff;
● Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
● Ability to work independently, be a “self-starter” and work as part of a team;
● Sound computer skills including creative tools (Adobe Suite), Microsoft, and
Google;
● An understanding of the nonprofit, voluntary and social services sector;
● Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends;
● Access to a vehicle and desire to move outside the office to build relationships;
● Display a positive attitude, show concern for people and the community with good listening ability;
● Must embrace the mission of the Cancer Support Community.
