During my field placement at the Flourish office, I served the Ann Arbor & Ypsi community by creating and leading a free support group for those on the higher end of the size spectrum. The Fat Positivity Support group has met three times now, and has improved my group facilitation skills as well as my ability to build community connections. I've built an important community of fat folks that will continue even after I graduate.
In addition, the Flourish events have given me a bridge as a student to connect with faculty and staff . I've built valuable connections and gained so much insight through these relationships across the School.
