Vance Jackson Jr.

Vance K. Jackson, Jr., MSW ’06, is the founder and CEO of NEXX Consulting Group, LLC, a multifaceted advisory firm delivering fund development, executive advisory and organizational strategy solutions across corporate, community, municipal and philanthropic sectors.

Previously, Jackson served in the city of Detroit mayor’s office as a Social Impact Fund Development Officer, where he was part of a five-member development team that helped secure more than $1 billion in public, private, corporate and philanthropic investment. His portfolio advanced catalytic neighborhood revitalization, affordable housing, workforce innovation and economic mobility initiatives across Detroit’s most complex markets.

Jackson has served as a strategic advisor to Fortune 500 corporations, multinational middle-market companies and startup founders, and provides executive advisory support to nonprofit CEOs and senior leaders navigating organizational growth, board governance, fund development and enterprise-level transformation. He has also served on executive boards for national nonprofit and for-profit organizations, offering guidance on fiduciary oversight, capital deployment and social impact performance.

Jackson holds both a Bachelor of Arts in sociology and a Master of Social Work in Community Organizing & Nonprofit Management from the University of Michigan.

He resides in Detroit with his wife of more than 16 years, Nina, and their two children.
