Executive Director of Student Services and Enrollment Management
Erin Zimmer has worked for the School’s Office of Student Services and Enrollment Management (OSS) since 2003. Erin currently leads OSS and has expertise and experience in all aspects of the office, including recruitment, admissions, financial aid and student services. Erin earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology and Women’s Studies and an MSW focused on Management of Human Services and Health, both from U-M. She is a member of the dean’s Senior Management Team and has also served on numerous boards, committees and work groups including the School’s Student Advisory Board, Financial Aid Committee, MSW Admissions Review Team, Student Success Team, SEED Orientation Planning Group, and the MSIL and CASC major implementation work groups.
Erin has enjoyed seeing social work in higher education develop as an emerging growth area within the field. As a first-generation college student herself, she deeply values the opportunity to help students navigate complex and resource-rich educational settings. Erin has been successful in supporting students so they can shape their educational experience to align with their interests and needs. She enjoys working with future social workers as they learn about the profession, make their way through the MSW program, and launch into their careers.
Erin’s husband is also a graduate of the School’s MSW program. Together they have three daughters (including identical twins) and four animals who put their social work skills to use every day!
