Betsy Williams has worked at the U-M School of Social Work since December 2013. She provides writing support for current students and is part of the SSW Career Services team, supporting both current students and alums. She works closely with our Office of Student Services and with other units at the school, is part of the Self-Healing and Social Justice Arts Collective, and co-leads the SSW Book Club and the SSW Garden Share.

Previously at U-M, Betsy has taught composition and argumentative writing at LSA, and business communication at the Ross School of Business. She also worked at the U-M libraries, providing library reference and instruction, and enjoys collaborating with our librarians. Betsy has a BA in History and German Studies from Williams College, a MA and ABD from the U-M Program in American Culture, and an MFA in writing from the Solstice MFA Program at Pine Manor College.

Outside of work, Betsy enjoys spending time with friends and family, travel, and writing, and is a local volunteer for the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators. At work, she enjoys teaching writing without assigning grades.
