Liyun Wu is a Ph.D. candidate in the Joint Doctoral Program of Social Work & Economics of University of Michigan. From academic training in the US, UK and China, her perspective is widened to include an experiential understanding of the cultural and disciplinary operators that influence social welfare. In brief, her research interests include the impacts of public programs, social services on the well-beings of disadvantaged families and children, the impacts of migration on children and youth development, poverty and inequality, and research methods. As a university Graduate Student Instructor (GSI), Ms. Wu has taught courses of Principle of Microeconomics and Principle of Macroeconomics at the undergraduate level and will teach Basic Social Work Research Method at the graduate level in Winter 2009.
