John Doering-White is a doctoral candidate in the Joint Doctoral Program in Social Work and Anthropology. His research focuses on the intersections of violence and care that surround the work of migrant shelters throughout Mexico that assist undocumented Central Americans. Prior to graduate school, John worked as a community organizer and family advocate with immigrant communities in rural Illinois.
