Katie Doyle returned to the University of Michigan School of Social Work faculty in 2026 after serving as managing director of the Annenberg Institute at Brown University. At Brown, she led strategy, operations, finance, organizational culture and staff development for an interdisciplinary research institute, and taught leadership and stakeholder engagement in the Master in Public Affairs program at the Watson School of International and Public Affairs. She previously served on the U-M School of Social Work faculty from 2015 to 2022, where she helped design and implement the management and leadership curriculum.

Doyle brings nearly three decades of experience spanning clinical social work, nonprofit executive leadership, higher education administration, teaching, consulting and leadership coaching. She spent 17 years in leadership roles at Ozone House Youth and Family Services, including a decade as executive director, supporting young people and families affected by homelessness, exploitation and complex trauma. Her areas of expertise include strategic leadership and governance, organizational culture, people and project management, financial sustainability, stakeholder engagement and impact evaluation.

After beginning her career in Chicago’s child welfare system, Doyle later earned her MSW from the U-M School of Social Work as a Civitas Fellow and subsequently provided individual and family therapy to families involved in the child welfare system in Flint before moving into organizational leadership.
