Wendy L. Sellers, RN, MA, CSE, FASHA is passionate about eliminating silence, shame, and stigma around puberty and sexuality. She loves to answer questions about puberty and sex education. As the founder of Health 4 Hire, she provides consulting services, including training, public speaking, and writing. Wendy has taught thousands of educators how to teach sex education and presents sessions on effective sex education at state and national conferences. Wendy advocates for skills-based, comprehensive, inclusive sex education that starts early, involves parents, and meets students’ needs. Wendy is known internationally as the author of Puberty: The Wonder Years and co-author of the Michigan Model for Health. She also contributed a chapter to Legal Resource for School Health Services and reviews manuscripts for the American Journal of Sexuality Education. Wendy was named 2014 National Health Coordinator of the Year by the American School Health Association (ASHA). She served on the ASHA Board of Directors, chaired the Advocacy and Coalitions Committee, and was named an ASHA fellow. The Society of State Leaders of Health and Physical Education honored Wendy with the 2021 Russ Henke Service Award, and she served on the Society Board of Directors. Ms. Sellers completed the Sexual Health Certificate Program at the University of Michigan and is an AASECT Certified Sexuality Educator.
