Renee Rienecke, Ph.D., is Director of Clinical Services and Research of the University of Michigan Comprehensive Eating Disorders Program and an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry. Dr. Rienecke received her Ph.D. from Northwestern University and completed her clinical psychology internship and postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Chicago before joining the faculty. During her ten years at the University of Chicago she served as a study therapist on several NIMH-funded treatment studies. Dr. Rienecke provides empirically supported treatments for adolescents and adults with eating disorders. She is a faculty member of the Training Institute for Child and Adolescent Eating Disorders, which provides consultation to therapists interested in becoming certified to conduct family-based therapy. Her research interests include the role of expressed emotion in treatment outcome for adolescent eating disorders and the impact of the family on treatment outcome.
