Dr. Raven Badger was formerly an Associate Professor of Addictions Studies and Behavioral Health and has worked in the substance abuse field since 1994, providing counselor training to behavioral health professionals, counselors, and students. Dr. Badger completed postdoctoral fellowships in Advanced Rehabilitation Research and Health Disparities. Raven conducted women’s sexual health research in the Chicagoland area and upstate New York and has numerous book chapters and research articles to date, including their 2012 seminal book “Sexuality and Addiction: Making Connections, Enhancing Recovery” https://www.amazon.com/Sexuality-Addiction-Connections-Enhancing-Recovery/dp/0313396353.
Dr. Badger has been teaching in higher education since 2005 and has been recognized nationally for their research and contributions in addictions and sexual health (https://www.linkedin.com/in/raven-badger-phd-7a4a0a17/). Raven is currently contracted (2025) and writing a second edition to their 2012 book. Their work centers on how sexuality impacts our life trajectories and their expertise informs several current creative writing projects. When Raven isn’t working, they facilitate learning programs with their horses, dink around blacksmithing and exploring the Boston Mountains of Arkansas with their dogs.
