Through a team-based, experiential, and interdisciplinary learning model, small groups of U-M graduate and professional students work with faculty to explore and offer solutions to emerging, complex problems. This course is offered through the Law School’s Problem Solving Initiative and the topics vary by semester.

Social Work students may apply for this course using the PSI application system (https://problemsolving.law.umich.edu/) November 2-15, 2020.

This class is an interdisciplinary problem solving class offered at the Law School through the Problem Solving Initiative (PSI). Responsibility for aging public infrastructure has shifted from collectives to individuals and from public to private actors, greatly impacting access to opportunities, health outcomes, and family stability of the most vulnerable populations. Funding, policy, and programming mechanisms for repair, maintenance, access, and innovation in mobility systems will be explored with a focus on low-income communities in SE Michigan. Multidisciplinary student teams will learn from stakeholders and experts, apply problem solving tools, and learn about changing mobility and transport infrastructures.

This class is open to all University of Michigan graduate and professional students. Please note: Non-Law students are responsible for checking with their own schools, colleges, or units to learn if a PSI class will count toward graduation or other departmental requirements. SOCIAL WORK students - This will count as elective credit toward the MSW.

Non-law graduate/professional students may apply for the course using the PSI application system (https://problemsolving.law.umich.edu/) November 2-15, 2020. After the initial application period, students seeking to apply can contact [email protected]. After the initial application period, students seeking to apply can contact [email protected].
