This course presents advanced topics in interpersonal practice. The topics may include emerging practice methods, advanced application of methods covered in other required methods courses, and applications of methods in specific populations.

This course will focus on interventions designed to moderate the signs and symptoms that result from traumatic events in clients' lives. This mini-course will cover four intervention models: Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Traumatic Incidence Reduction (TIR), and Tapas Acupressure Technique (TAT). The course will briefly review theories about trauma, and also present the clinical research that supports these interventions.
