The School welcomes John Freer, a postdoctoral research fellow in the STEP Lab. In this role, he leads research focused on advancing disability justice, accessibility and inclusion for employees across the University of Michigan. He employs participatory and community-engaged approaches that center the expertise and lived experiences of individuals with disabilities throughout the campus community. As both a program coordinator and professor, he has spent the last 15 years preparing future educators for careers in special/inclusive education.
