The School welcomes Assistant Professor Sara Stein, MSW ’15 & PhD ’21, who returns after serving as an assistant research scientist at the U-M School of Public Health. Her research seeks to advance practice and policy through the prevention of intergenerational transmission of trauma, translating research findings into trauma-informed, culturally grounded interventions. Stein is a licensed clinical social worker with ten years of clinical experience working with women and families with trauma histories who also face structural marginalization. She is a graduate of the Joint PhD Program in Social Work and Psychology.
