Professor Katie Edwards is the recipient of a 2025 Distinguished Publication Award from the Association for Women in Psychology (AWP) for her article “Using Photovoice to Document Challenges and Strengths of Lakota Women with Histories of Incarceration.” The award is given in recognition of significant and substantial contributions to research and theory that advance our understanding of the psychology of women and promote the achievement of the goals of the association.
Every year since 1977, AWP has presented one or more awards for books and/or articles (published the previous year) that make significant contributions to feminist psychology. Edwards has been invited to give a talk on this article at the 2026 AWP annual conference.
