    The Social Work Librarian is a liaison to SSW, helping researchers and instructors find and use the best resources for their work, answer reference questions through personal research consultations and answering email requests from faculty and students.

  2. Student Services and Enrollment Management

    Responsible for admissions, financial aid, student services, and career services for the MSW program.

  3. Audio-Visual Support & Instructional Support

    The AV team provides support and media services to the faculty of the School of Social Work for classes, conferences, workshops and other educational related activities. They support for equipment loans, videoconferencing via Zoom, lecture capture with Kaltura Classroom, and staffing the SSW studio and media room. Visit the AV reservation page on My SSW to reserve AV equipment using the online reservation form.

    The Instructional Support and Design team provides support, training, consultation, and design services for the School of Social Work. They also provide in-house support for Canvas and maintain teaching toolkit Canvas sites with helpful tutorials and guides for SSW faculty.

  4. Field Education

    Develops and provides students with field-based educational opportunities that lead to competent social work practice under the supervision of credentialed/approved field instructors whose field sites have approved affiliations with the School of Social Work.

  5. Human Resources

    The SSW Human Resources offices manages all faculty, staff, temporary and student temporary appointments, payroll and sick/vacation time accrual/usage and can be reached at [email protected].  SSW HR acts as the liaison between the SSW and UM Staff Human Resources and UM Academic Human Resources. The SSW Director of Human Resources, Lori Burger, provides counselling and assistance to all staff for grievances and concerns, including conflict of interest and conflict of commitment questions.   6. Facilities

    Responsible for the overall upkeep of the building inside and out, including renovations both major and minor.

  8. Marketing / Communications

    Services include branding and marketing, digital storytelling, Ongoing magazine and other SSW publications, broadcast email, media and public relations, strategic communication and web development.

    Committed to building and strengthening relationships between the School and its alumni and friends.

  10. Faculty and Administrative Support Team

    The FAST (Faculty and Administrative Support Team) Office supports faculty with administrative services. Please feel free to reach out to FAST with any questions - if we can't answer them for you, we can direct you to staff who can help.
