  1. Social Work Practice in Addressing Substance Abuse & Addiction

    November 10, 2016 - 12:00pm to 1:30pm

    Come learn about issues and best practices when working with clients facing substance abuse and addiction from the following panel:

    Steve Wiland, LMSW, ICADC (International Certified Alcoholism & Drug Addiction Counselor). He is the Director at Foundations Detroit. 

    David Cordova, MSW, Ph.D. He is a professor at the U-M School of Social Work.

    Tracy Colangelo, Ph. D., LMSW, CAADC. She is a Clinical Consultant, and is a psychotherapist at a private practice in Plymouth, MI. 

    Thomas Matthews, current Detroit Clinical Scholar, interning at Oakdale Recovery Center, a detox facility. 

    Todd Gerson, current Detroit Clinical Scholar, interning at Growth Works, providing groups to adolescents with SUD.

    Phillip Lutrell, current Detroit Clinical Scholar, interning at Hegira Programs Inc, working for the Integrated Dual Diagnosis Treatment Program.

  2. Using Language and Area Studies With Your Professional Degree

    November 10, 2016 - 4:00pm to 5:00pm

    Panel discussion including professional degree alums who are using language study in their field of study. Targeted to professional school students but open to everyone. Language and area studies programs will also be invited to join a small fair after the panel discussion.
