THE ASSOCIATION OF BLACK SOCIAL WORK STUDENTS (ABSWS) PRESENTS:

The Righteous Rebellion event personifies the struggle, and resilience of Blacks through various poetic demonstrations featuring local artist from Ann Arbor and Detroit. The events will featureWalter Lacy, Lhea Copeland,  and Domanique Matthews. The event was inspired by 1960's Day of Absence play documenting the signifance of black lives and black contribution throughout society. We hope this event reinvigorates the passion to take action and to spark more dialogue on social movements of the 1960s Day of Absence and the present day #BlackLivesMatter campaign. The purpose of this event is to celebrate black culture by critically examining the profound longitudinal impact of Blacks in the community.

Refreshments will be provided
