The mad/neurodivergent MSW student group came together last fall. We wanted to connect with one another, discuss neurodiversity, share strategies and advocate for the school to continue improving services for mad/neurodivergent students. We now have over 70 members, with a very active group chat and monthly meetings.
We held our first neurodiversity celebration dinner in April 2026. A panel of students, staff and faculty discussed their lived experiences with being neurodivergent. We had a great turnout. This event helped neurodivergent people to connect with one another and discuss shared experiences, as well as helped neurotypical attendees to better understand neurodivergent people.
