This term, I am teaching SW663, where students are developing grant proposals and fundraising plans for three nonprofit organizations based in Michigan. Both the nonprofits and the students have expressed appreciation for the practical application of the coursework and the meaningful opportunity to support community organizations through their work. One student from SEAS is even considering an internship with one of our partner organizations. Additionally, I am establishing a community-based participatory research (CBPR) partnership with the Sault Tribe, and we have recently approved several data use agreements with them, along with securing a grant from the American Diabetes Association.
