Emily Gordon

Jewish Communal Leadership Program Class of 2022

Emily Gordon comes to JCLP from Toledo, Ohio, where she worked at the Jewish Federation of Greater Toledo for four years as a Marketing Associate. Emily grew up in the Toledo area. In May 2014, she graduated Summa Cum Laude from Bowling Green State University with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and an interdepartmental minor in Visual Communication Technology and Ethnic Studies. Emily was a reporter and photographer for several newspapers in the Toledo area before shifting gears to Public Relations and Marketing. After interning at the Toledo Zoo & Aquarium in its Public Relations department, Emily joined the Federation team. There, she shared the stories of a small but vibrant Jewish community through photographs and articles in the Toledo Jewish News, on the Jewish Toledo website, and over social media. Her longtime interest in leadership development, Jewish programming, and tikkun olam (repairing the world) led her to JCLP. As a new Wolverine, Emily is looking forward to delving into the world of social work and exploring the many fascinating ways in which Judaism and social justice intersect.
