Position Description

A Clinical Research Project Manager is sought to support two projects in the Barwick Implementation Lab. Project 1 is a 4-year CIHR-funded project that will develop and evaluate an e-health software platform to support implementation of evidence-based interventions in healthcare organizations.  Project 2 is a 3-year Helmsley Foundation grant that will develop and implement a multimodal intervention to improve the transition of patients with Crohn’s disease from pediatric to adult care. This is a great opportunity to apply and hone skills and competencies in implementation science and practice.

Here’s What You’ll Get to Do:

  • Collaborate with Principal Investigator regarding grant applications, new research proposals, report preparation, presentations, manuscripts and development and review of study protocols.
  • Manage REB and track deadlines. Prepare annual follow up for resubmission, make and submit changes based on protocol amendments as required.
  • Keep abreast of regulations and policies governing clinical research and communicate to staff and research team members. (e.g., Tri-council Policy Statement). Develop policies and procedures related to the research program, ensuring external regulations and guidelines are followed.
  • Develop study binders for study team use, and ensure they are kept up to date.
  • Work with the PIs on manuscript preparation and other knowledge translation deliverables.
  • Supervise database development and entry and coding.
  • Develop and monitor study timelines.
  • Responsible for problem solving, task prioritization and day-to -day budget management, reporting and projection.
  • Support hiring and supervision of graduate students.
  • Participate in implementation support and data acquisition to assure completeness and accuracy of documentation and data.
  • Project 1 – Support communication with software vendor and track software use in 6 participating organizations.
  • Project 2 - Support and track implementation activities in 4 organizations.

Education / Experience Required:

  • A Master's or PhD degree in Health Science or a related field with a minimum of two years’ experience in implementation research.
  • Sound knowledge of implementation science. Experience in implementation is an asset.
  • Knowledge of e-health software development is an asset.
  • Completion of Good Clinical Practices and Human Subject Protections (TCPS2).
  • Proven skills in grant writing, data and budget management, graphics.
  • Familiar with statistical software packages and qualitative software.
