Description

Overview:  This employee provides direct service to clients in the Behavioral Health Services Program and reports to the Behavioral Health Service Business Operations Director. 

Required Qualifications:

Education:

  • MSW or equivalent master’s degree or higher
  • Minimum two years professional post master’s clinical experience.

Certificate/Licensure:

  • Must be a State of Michigan Licensed Master’s Social Worker (LMSW) or higher. Consideration will be given to applicants with a Michigan Limited Licensed Master’s Social Worker or other equivalent licensure.

  • Ability to deliver short term, solution focused, effective treatment in an outpatient setting

  • Ability to complete all clinical documentation requirements within established agency guidelines
  • Strong interpersonal engagement skills
  • Ability to assist the organization in promoting services to referral sources and community groups
  • Ability to engage clients from a variety of cultural and socio-economic backgrounds
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to work as a part of a team to assist in the collection of client payments, co-pays and deductible amounts
  • Ability to make appropriate assessments and recommendations
  • Knowledge of CSSW computer system and relevant software
  • Ability to prepare reports and maintain records according to agency standards and requirements
  • Ability to collect and evaluate client data
  • Ability to work with community organizations and resources to meet client needs
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Ability to deal with public and clients in a courteous and effective manner
  • Ability to work effectively with the Latino/Hispanic population
  • Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment
  • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions

Essential Job Duties:

A.   Clinical

  • Provides individual, family, and group therapy to clients as determined by program needs 
  • Provide accurate documentation for all contact with all clients
  • Conducts assessments/evaluations for individuals and families 
  • Formulates hypotheses, sets treatment goals with clients and formulates intervention plans 
  • Utilizes short-term solution focused therapy model 
  • Responsible for implementing the conditions of service (i.e., client payment, notification, etc.)
  • Informs supervisor of clients/families who are experiencing child abuse, neglect, suicidal or homicidal symptoms and takes appropriate action or as directed by law
  • Return phone calls to clients within 24 hours unless other arrangements have been approved
  • Attends group supervision meetings as scheduled  and appropriate
  • Provides communication to client collateral contacts as necessary 
  • Utilizes and maintains Catholic Social Services of Washtenaw County professional client schedule
  • Communicates directly with clients when canceling or rescheduling clinical appointments, unless other arrangements have been made.

B.  Administrative

  • Maintains all client records as required in accordance with agency expectations regarding standard timelines/contractual requirements and in accordance with all program policies and procedures
  • Completes reports and forms and compiles statistics as required
  • Participates in Agency staff development and staff meetings as appropriate
  • Assists in the collection of client fees, co-pays and other payments as needed and/or required
  • Reports unsafe working conditions immediately to supervisor or as directed
  • Provides timely and necessary authorization/documentation of service for client billing and payroll 
  • Performs other related tasks as assigned
  • Regularly checks CSS email and voicemail daily
  • Appropriately accesses, uses and safeguards client Confidential or Protected health Information in the performance of job duties
  • Promote agency services whenever appropriate

C. Reporting Relationships:

  • Reports to the Director of Business Operations/Clinical Director
