Section 4.01.06: Field Placement Process
OFE is responsible for selecting and approving fieldwork sites and initiating placement arrangements. The assistant dean for field education assesses the suitability of field placements as student training sites and approves only those that meet the school's requirements. Only school-approved fieldwork sites can be utilized for field education.
The Field Faculty works with students to develop a goal statement and résumé, along with a selection of six potential field placement sites. The Field Faculty will contact the fieldwork site and electronically send the goal statement and résumé for review. If the fieldwork site decides to interview the student, the Field Faculty will contact the student and have them set up the interview. Following the interview, the student and the site will each determine if they think the student is a good fit and will contact the Field Faculty with their decision.
