Since our founding in 1921, Michigan Social Work has been deeply committed to addressing the most pressing issues facing our society. The School’s mission has always focused on social justice.
In the wake of George Floyd’s death, our nation has become painfully aware of the need to dismantle racism and systems of oppression. The School mounted a fundraising campaign to advance social justice and anti-racism commitments and successfully raised $100,000.
Building on this momentum, the School will commemorate its 100th anniversary with the establishment of a new Centennial Social Justice Impact Fund. This fund will create an endowment for perpetual support of the School’s commitment to antiracism, social justice and social change.
This endowed fund will support:
Celebrate the School of Social Work’s past, present and support its bright future. Your gift to the Centennial Social Justice Impact Fund will help Michigan Social Work champion diversity, fight for social justice and cultivate a practice of service. All of these are cornerstones of the School.
