Daphne M. Brydon

Daphne Brydon, MSW '09 and PhD '21, is a licensed social worker with nearly 20 years of direct practice with adults and children within hospitals (inpatient, outpatient, emergency department), community organizations and education settings. She is licensed in Michigan with both clinical and macro specialties and provides supervision to early-career social workers across the state. Brydon has almost a decade of experience teaching graduate courses in social work and psychology at the University of Denver and the University of Michigan.

In addition to her clinical work, Brydon has been involved in numerous research and evaluation projects related to the implementation and sustainability of behavioral health interventions within community and state-based agencies — in Michigan and Colorado.

Brydon’s current research agenda seeks to facilitate the development of trauma-informed behavioral health interventions and practice for individuals involved with the criminal legal system, especially those who become involved as minors.

Research Interests/Focus

In addition to her clinical interests, she is involved in research projects at UM School of Social Work, including the evaluation of the implementation and sustainability of evidence based practices within community mental health agencies in Michigan.
