Bruno Giordani is a tenured Professor in the departments of Psychiatry, Neurology, and Psychology at the University of Michigan. He directed the Neuropsychology Division in the University of Michigan Health Systems for 12 years and remains the Chief Psychologist, though he has now taken on a new role as the University’s Faculty Ombuds. His research interests include the identification of early signs of cognitive impairment in medical illness and cross-cultural applications of pharmacological and nonpharmacological treatments for cognitive and behavioral consequences of illness, including research in sub-Saharan Africa and other resource poor settings. He has published over 150 peer reviewed articles and 15 book chapters. Dr. Giordani is the Associate Director of the Michigan Alzheimer’s Disease Center and also remains active in state and regional dementia work. He has recently stepped down as board chair of the Great Lakes Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association, but remains the National Delegate for that chapter and serves as on the National Meeting Steering Committee for the Association.
