Carl Mojta

Carl Mojta

Carl Mojta (he/him/his) is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and AASECT Certified Sex Therapist in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. He received his Master’s Degree from Virginia Tech’s Marriage and Family Therapy Program and his Certificate in Sexual Health/Sex Therapy Track from the University of Michigan. Since 2013, Carl has been working at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs’ DC Vet Center, starting as a family therapist and then promoted to the director position in 2017. He has a part-time private practice in the DC area specializing in sexual health concerns. He served as an adjunct faculty in Virginia Tech’s Marriage and Therapy Program, teaching its core course titled Perspectives on Human Sexuality. Carl is a Clinical Fellow of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) and a full member of the Society for Sex Therapy and Research (SSTAR). He also is a Certified Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapist and an approved IFS consultant.

Carl is a US Army veteran and served on active duty assigned to the 501st Military Intelligence (MI) Battalion (BN) in Dexheim, Germany. He participated in a UN peacekeeping mission to the Republic of North Macedonia and then deployed with the 501st MI BN to Bosnia following the signing of the Dayton Peace Agreement.
