  1. School of Social Work Commencement

    July 27, 2019 - 10:00am

    SSW Summer Commencement will be held at Hill Auditorium. A light reception will immediately follow at the School of Social Work in the Educational Conference Center (ECC).

    All MSW degree candidates planning to graduate in August 2019 are encouraged to participate in Summer Commencement. Graduates with accessibility concerns should contact the Office of Student Services as soon as possible at ssw.oss@umich.edu or (734) 936-0961.

  3. Field Education Agreement – TAB 3 Due

    August 2, 2019 - 5:00pm

    For all students currently enrolled in field, TAB 3 must be completed and submitted.

    The Educational Agreement Evaluation process begins with the student completing their portion of TAB 3.  This includes the documentation of field credits, total clock hours, the completion of the Key Learning Experience/Project, and clicking the approval button at the bottom of the page.  This allows the Field Instructor two weeks to review and complete their steps.

  4. Financial Aid Information Webinar-For Incoming MSW Students

    August 7, 2019 - 3:00pm to 4:00pm

    This webinar will focus on providing financial aid information, including, understanding financial aid packages, student accounts and billing along with services offered by the Office of Student Services. This webinar will be offered off-site and students will be able to access via the Internet.

  5. Field Education ends

    August 16, 2019

  6. Final Field Educational Agreement Due

    August 19, 2019 - 5:00pm

    For all students currently enrolled in field, the Final Educational Agreement is due to the Office of Field Education.

    The Educational Agreement is not considered complete until the student completes and submits their End of Term (Tab 3), and the Field Instructor rates the student's Practice Behaviors in Assignments (Tab 2), completes, and approves Tab 3. The Field Instructor is responsible to submit the completed document by the due date.

  7. SSW Book Club

    August 20, 2019 - 12:00pm to 1:00pm

    The SSW Book Club will discuss Fracturing the Founding: How the Alt-Right corrupts the Constitution, by John E Finn.

    You are welcome to join us, whether or not you have attended before, and whether or not you have finished the book.

    All members of the SSW community are invited. Feel free to bring your lunch.

    August 26, 2019 - 7:45am to 9:30am

    Please join the Jewish Communal Leadership Program students for our annual Community Welcome Breakfast!

    "Coffee, Community, and Conversation"

    This annual event is a great opportunity to connect incoming and returning JCLP students with community members over breakfast and thoughtful conversation.

    Please note that this event is held at the School of Social Work (address below). On-street metered parking is available but limited. The Forest Avenue Parking Structure (650 S Forest Ave) is the closest parking garage.

  10. Fall 2019 SSW International Student Orientation

    August 26, 2019 - 9:30am to 4:00pm

    This Fall 2019 SSW International Student Orientation session will provide information for incoming MSW international students. Lunch will be provided.

    Please note that all incoming MSW students are expected to attend Fall SEED Orientation, which is scheduled for August 27 - 30.

    Mandatory Check-In Information

    The Mandatory International Center check-in will be a part of the International Student Orientation session and the following items are required to complete your check-in.

    You must bring the original and a photocopy (make the copies after you have entered the U.S.) of the following documents:

    Passport (picture page and current U.S. visa page)

    I-20 (page 1) or DS-2019 (page 1)

    Form I-94
