  1. Decolonizing Academia with Dr. Clelia Rodríguez

    The School of Social Work Student Union: First Generation Student Subcommittee invites you to join Dr. Clelia O. Rodríguez author of Decolonizing Academia: Poverty, Oppression, and Pain at the University of Michigan. Dr. Rodríguez is a woman of color and an educator, born and raised in El Salvador. The seminar will foster dialogue that encourages graduate students to challenge inequalities, disrupt racist ways of learning, and inhibit the exploitation of communities through scholarly practice.

  2. Navigating the U.S. Job Search (for International Students Only)

    October 10, 2019 - 2:00pm to 4:00pm

    Do you plan to work in the United States after finishing your degree? This program is designed to help international students maximize their chances of finding employment in the US after graduation. We'll discuss interview preparation, resume writing, cross-cultural issues, networking, and ways to identify appropriate opportunities. We'll also provide an overview of immigration regulations pertinent to international students, and University Career Center services that are available to you on this campus.

  5. Philanthropy and Evaluation

    This mini-course will focus on issues of contemporary philanthropy and the ways in which both philanthropic entities and their grantees can evaluate the efficiency, effectiveness and impact of philanthropic investments.
