  2. Spelman College Prospective Student Session

    September 24, 2019 - 12:00pm to 1:00pm

    This session will provide the opportunity to learn more about the University of Michigan School of Social Work's MSW & PhD Programs. Topics covered will include: MSW/PhD Curriculum, Dual Degree Programs, Application Process, Degree Requirements, and Financial Aid. 

  3. Spelman College Social Science Graduate School Fair

    September 24, 2019 - 2:00pm to 6:00pm

    An admissions representive will attend the Spelman College Social Science Graduate School Fair to share information about U-M's MSW and PhD programs.

  4. Oakland University MSW Open House

    September 24, 2019 - 4:00pm to 6:00pm

    An admissions representative will be coming to the Oakland University Open House to share information on U-M's MSW program. 

  5. Latino Social Worker Organization Conference Latino Social Worker Organization Conference

    September 25, 2019 - 8:00am to September 27, 2019 5:00pm

    MSW students will be available in the conference exhibit hall to share information on U-M's MSW and PhD programs.

  6. Global Independent Study Info Session

    September 25, 2019 - 2:00pm to 4:00pm

    This session is intended for incoming MSW students interested in Global Independent Study; a student-initiated opportunity that allows students to travel abroad. When abroad, students engage with a topic of their choosing while working with a faculty instructor. Students from all practice methods, areas and curriculum tracks are eligible to apply and will receive 1-6 elective credits. 

    We will have a panel of returned global independent study students share about what they did this past summer, where they went, and their overall experience. An overview of the application process will also be provided. Then we will open it up for questions from interested students. Click here for more information about Global Independent Study.

  10. Meet & Greet - Faculty, Staff & Students of Color Meet & Greet - Faculty, Staff & Students of Color

    September 26, 2019 - 6:00pm to 9:00pm

    The Common Roots planning committee is proud to announce our second event, the Faculty, Staff and Students of Color Meet and Greet. This event gives students an opportunity to connect with one another and provide networking opportunities for the School of Social Work's faculty, students, and staff of color. Dinner will be served and doors will open at 5:30 PM, the event will formally begin at 6:00 PM. 

    Common Roots is a planning committee consisting of members from the Office of Student Services, the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Office, the LatinX Social Work Coalition, the Associaition of Black Social Workers and the Black Radical Healing Pathways.
