The School of Social Work has a long history of promoting the arts. When the School of Social Work building was designed, a dedicated group of alumni, faculty and art experts discussed the value of art and the value an art collection could bring to the School. Michigan Social Work's art collection is the first standing art collection within a school of social work in the nation.
