The Field Placement Verification form is not complete until the student submits it AND the field instructor approves it.

Using Photovoice for Individual and Community Empowerment

Photovoice is a process in which people typically those with limited power due to poverty, language barriers, race, class, ethnicity, gender, culture, or other circumstances use video or photo images to document their environment and experiences and share them with others. It uses visual methods to communicate lived experience and to create a basis for discussion and action. The images are often used, with captions composed by the photographers, to bring the realities of the photographers lives home to the public and policy makers and to spur change. Showing Up for Racial Justice (SURJ) Welcome Meeting

SURJ UMich works to motivate and make known transformative education opportunities that sharpen the analysis, organizing skills and leadership of white anti-racist organizers and the broader University of Michigan community. Please join us as we come together to begin setting our agenda and intentions for this semester's chapter. We will also be hosting a one-time training on the topic of, 'how to initiate conversations about white supremacy and anti-racism'.

Online Educational Agreement Information Session

The Office of Field Instruction is holding this session so field students can learn about the Online Educational Agreement process. This is geared towards students in their first term of field (whether Foundation or Advanced Standing), but students further along in their field placement who have questions about the OEA process are welcome to attend. Food will be provided!

CancelledJoin the students from the Fall 2018 Facing Race mini-course in a conversation around racial equity as we explore themes of: accountability, decolonization, challenging viewpoints, digging deeper and changing the narrative. Let's share what we can commit to doing to ‘change the game' to address racial equity in the School of Social Work and beyond. This is a collaborative space for students, faculty, and staff.
