    Join the SSW Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for a student forum to discuss the School of Social Work’s recent climate survey results and engage in the ongoing conversation around improving school climate. Join us so that together we can foster a more diverse, inclusive, and equitable learning community!

  2. Autism, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Social Work Workshop

    October 29, 2018 - 12:00pm to 1:00pm

    Come join the SSW Career Services Office for coffee and conversation with current professionals in the field of autism and ABA. This presentation will provide a brief introduction to the field of ABA and intervention methods utilizing the person-in-environment context. Discussion will focus on how ABA can be useful for social work applications and future career opportunities. Q and A with board certified behavior analysts, licensed social worker, and current social work interns to follow presentation.

    Presenters:

    Benjamin Ross

    Benjamin Ross has worked in the field of mental health and autism intervention for the past 8 years. He has worked in many different capacities such as a behavior interventionist, clinical supervisor, and counselor. He currently works at Novel Responses as a clinical supervisor and member of the community outreach team. Benjamin loves talking about all things relating to mental health, autism, and applied behavior analysis - so please feel free to nerd out with him!

    Anna Spork

    Anna Spork has been a BCBA for 9 years, working with individuals with ASD in various capacities. Her experiences include: working in center-based programs, schools, and in-home therapy programs. She also has been working to spread knowledge of ABA into the community, to help individuals and organizations learn how to use ABA outside of individuals with ASD.

    Leslie Scobie, LLMSW, BCBA.  

    Leslie was introduced to her first client diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) in 2006.  Since that time Leslie’s passion to support learning and generalization for those diagnosed with ASD lead her to pursue a MSW from the University of Michigan School of Social Work, complete a certificate in ABA from the Florida Institute of Technology, complete the requirements to become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), as well as complete a certificate in sex therapy and sexuality education from the University of Michigan.  Leslie currently works as BCBA Clinical Supervisor at Novel Responses, Inc.

  3. MSW Prospective Student Information Session in Detroit

    October 29, 2018 - 3:00pm to 4:00pm

    This session will provide the opportunity to learn more about the University of Michigan School of Social Work's MSW program. Topics covered will include: Curricular Options, Dual Degree Programs, Application Process, Financial Aid, and more.

    Parking Information

    The parking structure is located on Parsons St. between Woodward Ave. and Cass Ave. All guests must park on Level 3 and above. Guests in need of handicapped parking may use Level 1. Parking will be validated for attendees. Please bring the parking ticket with you to the session.
