Social Work and Abolition in the New Year

Please join us for a virtual public conversation about the growing abolitionist movement within the social work profession. This conversation amongst social work scholars recognizes abolition as a legitimate area of academic inquiry and practice. Panelists consider the possibilities of pursuing boundary-pushing abolitionist work and the tensions of pursuing this work as a part of the social work profession. Panelists discuss how support for ongoing abolitionist struggles toward freedom is a way of realizing the profession’s commitments to anti-racism and justice and how people can get involved with this growing movement.The panel conversation will be followed by audience Q & A.
