This course is the fourth session in a webinar series - The Nuts and Bolts of Evaluation for Community Organizations. Each session focuses on a practical aspect of conducting evaluation in community-based organizations. This session will focus on designing and implementing surveys, a data collection method used frequently by many organizations.

We are excited to invite you all to join us for the 4th annual Building Power Against White Supremacy Conference! Building Power is a Black-led conference based around countering white supremacy through community organizing, direct action, and in everyday life. This year's focus is Beyond Voting. While it speaks to a crucial election year where our votes are an explicit argument against white supremacy, anti-blackness, and the survival of the most marginalized people not only in the United States, but also globally, we know that voting is not the only tool we wield for our survival. Join us to learn about the field of corrections social work, explore what brought about the need for corrections social work, and the importance of quality mental health care within the prison system. Participants will learn about the impact that incarceration has on the individual and the family. We will also examine different programs available within Corrections Mental Health. We will close with a segment on progress that has been made in this field and where the field is headed.

This webinar will present research on how foster families, including parents and children, are faring during COVID-19. Given the challenges involving child welfare workers accessing foster families during the pandemic, the current research relied on social media data from Reddit to better understand the most pressing concerns of foster families discuss on online forums during COVID-19. The research will shed light on areas child welfare workers, programs, and policies can intervene to ally some of the challenges foster families experience during this time.
