  3. Attachment Theory and Clinical Practice through the Life Span

    July 17, 2020 - 9:00am to 5:00pm

    Understanding the implications of early relationships on adult functioning can inform adult psychotherapy in ways that can assist clients in their capacity to form and maintain healthy relationships. Using attachment theory as the foundation, this course will address relationship-based intervention in interpersonal practice with adults.

  4. Criminal Justice Reform and Debrief: What Can We Do as a School?

    With our privilege, resources, and knowledge - what can we do as a school to address this issue? All discussions and ideas are welcome - whether it be proposing new field placements that focus on criminal justice reform, integrating more course content on the history and creation of policing and it’s direct link to slavery, discussing how we are being affected by the trauma of violence against our communities, or discussing ideas for other ways that the school can participate in this moment in history and be a part of the story advocating for change.

  8. Theory and Practice of Infant Mental Health

    July 24, 2020 - 9:00am to 5:00pm

    This introductory course will examine the principles of Infant Mental Health intervention with families of infants and young children. Using attachment theory as a foundation, we will examine best practices in supporting early developing relationships between infants and young children and their caregivers. Special attention will be given to understanding the processes through which practitioners can promote infant well-being and expand parenting capacity to nurture and protect their children.

  9. School of Social Work Commencement

    July 24, 2020 - 2:00pm

    The School of Social Work is creating a graduation ceremony for all graduates to view. This ceremony will be pre-recorded and will launch on the School of Social Work Summer commencement site at 2pm, on July 24, 2020. The ceremony will be hosted by Dean Lynn Videka and will include a keynote address from Professor Justin Hodge, student speaker(s), and the announcement of each spring and summer graduate. Invite your family and friends to view the ceremony at 2pm or another time that is convenient for you to celebrate.
