  1. Field Education begins and Registration for NCFD students, Spring Half term classes begin

  2. SW 531 Foundation Field Seminar

    May 8, 2019 - 5:00pm to 7:00pm

    First day of class for students enrolled in SW 531.

  3. Final Public School Placement Field Educational Agreement Due

    May 9, 2019 - 5:00pm

    For all students graduating in May 2019 with a public school field placement, the final field placement Educational Agreement is due this day.

  4. Field Placement Application Due (Incoming 20-month, Advanced Standing and Out of Sequence Students)

    May 16, 2019 - 5:00pm

    Field Placement Application materials are due for incoming students (20-month, Advanced Standing and out-of-sequence) for a Fall 2019 field start. Out-of-sequence students include any students interested in a national or international field placement over the Spring/Summer term, students interested in field placements that follow an alternative field schedule or any students in a special scholarship that starts field in the Fall.

  5. Field Placement Verification Due

    May 22, 2019 (all day)

    All students currently enrolled in field (SW515 or SW691) must turn in the Field Placement Verification form by this deadline. This form is considered complete after your Field Instructor signs off on it.

    This form does not apply to incoming students.

  7. SSW and DPSS Personal Safety Lecture

    May 28, 2019 - 5:00pm to 7:00pm

    In partnership with the Division of Public Safety & Security, the Office of Field Instruction is sponsoring an introductory lecture to personal safety and self defense.  Our presenters from DPSS will be Candace Dorsey, Empowerment Self Defense Manager, and Sergeant Gary Hicks.  

    Description: "Our self-defense workshop takes a holistic approach to self-protection, emphasizing awareness and assertiveness skills as well as physical and verbal strategies to counter violence. The goal is to leave you better equipped to deal with everything from harassment to potentially violent people to sexual assault." 

    Information will be presented in a lecture format, and further resources will be given for students who wish to follow up with a self defense course through DPSS.  

    Food will be provided!  Students may arrive between 5:00 and 5:30 for food; the lecture will begin at 5:30.
