The School of Social Work's Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) established the DEI Impact Awards to recognize individuals or groups in the School who have made significant contributions in advancing DEI in the School or in the community. This year the office recognizes the commitment and leadership of Lecturer Leo Kattari, Sexual Health Certificate Program Director and Adjunct Lecturer Prem Pahwa, and Black Radical Healing Pathways — represented by MSW student Nicholas Buckingham.
"It is an honor to receive the DEI Impact Award. We are a month out from midterms; a gentle reminder that voting is social work and voting rights are a social determinant of health. Voting is one way we can use our voice for change."
Sexual Health Certificate Program Director and Adjunct Lecturer
"I am excited to receive this recognition for our Sexual Health Certificate Program! I would like to thank the school for its unwavering support. We believe that sexual health is social justice and that simply talking about sex will change the world."
Represented by MSW student Nicholas Buckingham
“Thank you for your recognition of the Black Radical Healing Pathways. The work continues. We hope to see you at the sixth annual Building Power Conference hosted at the School of Social Work on Saturday, October 22, 10 AM-6 PM."
