The information on outside courses comes from two main sources:
  1. Classes social work students have taken in the past
  2. Classes identified as of possible interest to social work students.
Several limitations of the listings should be noted:
  1. These listings are not exhaustive. There are many other courses offered elsewhere in the university that may be of interest and relevant to social work students.
  2. The information offered may not be up to date or complete. Some courses may not be open to social work students or may have special restrictions.
  3. Interest in courses numbered 400-499 should be checked for graduate level status since many are only offered for undergraduate credit. You can check this by contacting the department offering the course or contacting the SSW Registrar.

You should seek additional information about the courses from the departments where they are offered and from the instructors of the course. We strongly recommend you discuss your plans to take outside courses with your advisor, to make sure they seem to be a good fit for your educational program.
