The University of Michigan School of Social Work is committed to the ongoing development of excellence in social work practice. Our programs are designed for social workers and other human service professionals and provide professional development opportunities of the highest quality, taught by expert faculty and practitioners, at a reasonable cost.
What are the differences between mini-courses , workshops, and certificate programs?
- Mini-course: a brief course of study lasting less than a semester
- Workshop: a brief, intensive educational program focused on imparting knowledge, techniques, and skills in a particular field
- Certificate program: a series of courses in a designated area, which, upon completion, offer a document certifying that one has fulfilled the requirements of that particular discipline as outlined inthe course requirements.
