Kathleen G. Doyle

Katie Doyle teaches courses in leadership and management of social impact organizations. Prior to joining the faculty, Doyle was the Executive Director of Ozone House Youth and Family Services in Ypsilanti, MI. This award-winning, 50-year-old nationally recognized nonprofit provides 24-hour crisis intervention, shelter, housing, social support, therapy and case management to help thousands of youth experiencing homelessness and human trafficking as well as LGBTQ+ youth and their families lead safe, healthy and productive lives. Katie began her career working in the child welfare system in Chicago. She studied Interpersonal Practice at the U-M School of Social Work where she was a Civitas Fellow. After providing individual and family therapy with families involved in the child welfare system in Flint, she transitioned into organizational management and leadership roles. With more than 25 years of experience in the social impact sector, Katie is committed to reimagining executive leadership and governance of social impact organizations to maximize inclusion, belonging and equity.

Research Interests/Focus

Leadership and strategy in social impact organizations, equity and inclusion, positive organizational culture, practice with youth who have experienced trauma and homelessness, LGBTQ+ youth
