  1. Workshop: Working with Older Adult Immigrants

    October 22, 2015 - 8:30am to 12:00pm

    This workshop will explore issues related to aging among immigrants. Different categories of older adult immigrants will be described and adjustment issues, including mental health issues, cultural adaptation and role reversal will be discussed. Some of the cultural barriers to using services and programs will be examined, as well as special citizenship and civil rights issues that apply to older people.

    The International Opportunities Fair is a great way to connect with organizations with an international focus right here on campus! We expect 50-60 organizations and 400+ students to participate in the event. The Fair includes:

    Volunteer/Teaching Abroad Programs/Organizations

    Graduate School Programs

    Organizations with full-time positions (eg: government organizations with international focus)

    Stop by the Idealist.org Graduate School Fair to speak with an admissions representative about U-M's MSW and PhD programs. The fair is free and open to anyone considering graduate school.
