  1. SSW Career Services Alumni Lunch Sessions: Jamila Rahman, Washtenaw County’s Office of Community and Economic Development with the Senior Nutrition Program

    March 23, 2015 - 12:00pm to 1:00pm

    Jamila is a social worker at heart and pursued both undergraduate and graduate degrees in social work. She received a Bachelors of Social Work from Eastern Michigan University and a Masters of  Social Work from the University of Michigan (macro). Her personal and academic experiences helped shape her commitment to improving the lives of individuals and communities and also fostered an interest in program management, medical social work and health related programs. Jamila currently works for Washtenaw County’s Office of Community and Economic Development with the Senior Nutrition Program.

    How issues of social justice are integrated in professional practice for the field you’re preparing students to teach in.

    The aspects of practice you believe are particularly important for new practitioners.

    Courses offered in the School of Social Work you feel most qualified to teach, including those you've taught and others you’d be interested in teaching.

    Where you see yourself professionally in the next 5 to 10 years.

    What you uniquely bring to the School of Social Work’s educational program.

    Five hiring areas: Child Well-Being, Criminal Justice, Gerontology, Health and Health Service Delivery, Nonprofit and Public Management

  3. Advanced Field Peer Consultation Group

    March 23, 2015 - 12:00pm to 2:00pm

    The Peer Consultation Group offers a seminar-like experience where students can come to consult each other with field-related issues/support. The groups are open and drop-in. You can come to as many or as little as you like.
