  • Growing Hope became a federally recognized, 501c3 nonprofit organization in 2003. Since, Growing Hope has been empowering local communities to grow and eat healthy food. Young and old come together to grow their own fresh produce, revitalize their neighborhoods and teach one another the beauty and hope that comes from nurturing soil, seeds and self. Neighbors and vendors gather at our farmers' market to connect and share around healthy, local food. Advocacy for social justice, self-reliance and healthy lifestyles results in public policy support for healthy food and urban agriculture.
  • Project Description: Volunteers will start with getting a basic orientation of what Growing Hope does, then help on the farm or in the warehouse in the morning before helping to set up for the Farmer's Market.
  • Special Instructions: Please wear comfortable shoes and clothing that is outdoors-appropriate. Dress for the weather and bring sunscreen. Please bring necessary allergy medication(s) (for bees, plants, etc). Please do not bring many personal items.
  • Site Location:  922 W Michigan Ave, Ypsilanti, MI 48197
