      Join us for this symposium on Children Coping with Trauma to celebrate Kathleen Coulborn Faller's accomplishments and honor her contributions to the field of child welfare.

      The maltreatment of children has been recognized as a serious social problem in the United States for more than 50 years.  It is only in the past decade that there is emerging appreciation of the impact of maltreatment on children in the form of a spectrum of trauma symptoms.  This symposium will focus on what is being learned about the traumatic impact of maltreatment on children.

      This online session will provide the opportunity to learn more about the University of Michigan School of Social Work's MSW program. Topics covered will include: MSW Curriculum, Dual Degree Programs, Application Process, Degree Requirements, and Financial Aid.

Activism in Detroit: Engage & Explore

Event Description

Interested in learning more about Detroit? Come join students from across the University as we engage with the city through dialogue with community members and activists, explore city businesses and organizations on a walking tour, eat delicious, locally catered food, and use the new Connector shuttle between Detroit and the University of Michigan.

This trip involves an approximately 1 mile walking tour and involves staircases. Please let us know if you need any physical accomodations and we will do our best to meet your needs. 

* The day is sponsored by Semester in Detroit and Community Action and Social Change. All students, staff and faculty are welcome to join!
