Health Insurance
Health insurance is available through the Domestic Student Health Insurance Plan. The Domestic Student Health Insurance Plan provided by Aetna Student Health offers coverage to help meet hospital, surgical, and medical costs that students and their dependents may incur. If you do not have adequate health insurance coverage for the treatment of illness and injuries, or if your eligibility for continued coverage under a current policy will terminate during this academic year, we strongly suggest that you consider enrolling in this plan. An International Student/Visiting Scholar Health Insurance Plan is available for international students. Health insurance is required for all international students. If international students are already insured, they should contact the International Center (734-764-9310 or icenter@umich.edu) to ensure that plan coverage meets the University qualifications.
Application forms for the 2011-12 academic year will not be available until late July, and information will be sent directly to incoming students. Dental services are not covered under the above student health insurance plan.
